Recording Notes for 350 Seat Auditorium Recorded Dec. 15, 2003 Auditorium is roughly 50 by 70 with a raised two-level stage that is about 18 feet. Seating is raked with the seats in back being significantly higher than those in front. Moveable curtains at the back of the stage were left open to increase the brightness and increase reverb time. The room at the time of impulsing looked just like the photo I supplied. Impulse locations: Three rows. 1. The first row closest to the audience at about 18 feet from the back wall of the stage. 2. The second (middle) row was about 12 feet from the back wall of the stage 3. The third (back) row was 4 feet from the back wall of the stage. 4, Impulses labeled by row and by distance from center as measured from the audience's perspective. 5. IR file name gives this information. 6. For example, NOSRearFaceRow3Right7 means: NOS Rear Facing pair, the impulse source is in row 3 (4 feet from the back of the stage) 7,5 feet on the audience's right. Mic locations and geometries 1. Cardioid square. a. 32 feet as measured from the back wall of the stage. b. 8 feet off of floor. c. 4 Oktava MK012's (cardioid capsules) d. arranged in a square so each pair is close to NOS specifications. e. ST Audio PR8 mic pres for Mid spaced and Rear spaced cardioid pairs. Edited in Adobe Audition 1.0 so as to preserve time alignment between all the impulse files. Suitable for use in surround for this reason.
